What is Ayurveda?
The Science of Life- Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healthcare system that looks beyond the individual’s physical self. It looks into the individual’s social, behavioral, spiritual and emotional aspect. Ayurveda believes that our health is a balance between our mind, body, and environment.
According to Ayurveda every person has a unique blend of three doshas (Vata- air and space, Pitta- fire and water and Kapha- water and earth), with one dominant dosha and the other two in balance with the dominant one. When the doshas are in a state of balance or equilibrium they act as energy forces for our body. When the same doshas are in a verge of disorder or imbalance it manifests itself as mucous, bile, gas and wind. When these early signs are ignored they become full blown diseases. Ayurveda is all about deciphering the language of these doshas in order to maintain our bodies in a state of equilibrium and thus keeping us naturally healthy.
In the west the majority of people suffer from everyday digestion problems such as gas, bloating, stomach pain, constipation, heartburn, and fatigue after eating. Ayurveda provides simple solutions to these common ailments. To get a better understanding of body type please consults a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to identify your dominant dosha.
