Advanced Ayurveda

There have always been false notions and fallacies associated with Ayurveda. This mainly arises due to ignorance and not understanding the science of Ayurveda. Allopathic medicines give quick symptomatic relief to diseases and ailments. Hence, it has become convenient for people to go for any relief that is instant. Little do they know that this instant relief and pain have long-term side effects. Here are some of the myths that need to bust so that more people believe that Ayurveda is not an alternative approach to a cure but, the only RIGHT path to Absolute Wellness.

Myth: Liver cirrhosis requires liver transplant

Fact: Cirrhosis is the condition of the liver where the healthy liver tissue is replaced by scar tissue and hence, the proper functioning of the liver deteriorates over time. Myth: Bhasmas are harmful

Fact: Bhasma is actually an ancient nano-medicine. Bhasma is actually ash derived from controlled oxidation of all kinds of substances including plant materials, non-metallic elements, seashells, corals, metals etc. They act as carriers for various drugs and for targeted drug delivery (Yogavahi). Apart from that, Bhasmas have innumerable healing properties when used in right proportions. Bhasmas are treated with herbal juices or decoction and exposed to a certain quantum of heat. It is used in the treatment of chronic diseases such as osteoarthritis, infertility, erectile dysfunction, chronic gastritis, psoriasis, eczema, hormonal problems, cancer and many more. We at Jammi Pharmaceuticals use bhasmas in most of our medicines and follow the purification and detoxifications methods mentioned in the ancient ayurvedic texts.

Myth: Ghee is fattening

Fact: Pure Cow's Ghee does not contain oxidized cholesterol or trans fatty acids. It is lipolytic by nature, i.e. it breaks down the fat. According to Charaka Samhita,

“If the gastric fire is kindled by fuel in the form of ghee, then it cannot be suppressed, even by too heavy food.”

Ghee increases the Agni (fire) in the body, which aids digestion. It’s an excellent pacifier for Vata and Pitta doshas. Ghee is a short chain saturated fatty acid. Short chains are not only easy to digest but also help in mobilizing fat from stubborn fat areas, synthesizing hormones, strengthening cell membranes and protecting against harmful microorganisms. Ghee takes on the properties of other substances and a carries the substance deep into the body tissues. Hence, it is used in most Ayurvedic preparations as a Yogavahi.
